Fred Cannon is Senior Vice President, Government Relations at  BMI.

Cannon joined the performing rights organization in 1994 as Legislative Liaison and was promoted to Vice President in 1997. He continues to develop BMI's corporate bipartisan political strategies regarding the public performance right and supervise lobbyists at both the federal and state levels. He also administers the BMI Fund, the company's Federal multi-candidate Political Action Committee.

Cannon has held senior executive positions at PWL Records, Carrere Records, EMI Records and Harvest Records while he was based in London. He began his career with EMI Records in Rome. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Whittier College in California.
