SIGNIFICANT REPRESENTATIONS

  • Represent the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences in connection with entertainment, transactional and intellectual property matters.
  • Serve as primary external transactional counsel for various companies in the entertainment industries, including major and independent record companies and publishing companies.
  • Represent multiple leading companies in connection with new media music licensing and content acquisition strategies.
  • Primary intellectual property counsel to dozens of recording artists, record companies and film companies in connection with general intellectual property matters, including trademark counseling and prosecution, copyright protection and due diligence matters.
  • Prepare and negotiate recording artist agreements, producer agreements, and other music industry agreements on behalf of internationally recognized artists and record labels.
  • Serve as primary external counsel for independent film production company in connection with the production of an independent theatrical motion picture.
  • Negotiated trademark license agreement on behalf of The Home Depot in connection with the development of a nationally syndicated children's television production.
  • Prepare and negotiate a wide variety of intellectual property licensing and merchandising agreements in the entertainment, software and technology fields.
  • Represented the Estate of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., in nationally-followed copyright litigation against major broadcasting company regarding infringement of Dr. King's copyright in the historic "I Have a Dream" speech.
