Scott Hughes, Co-Founder & Senior Vice President of Strategic Marketing
Scott Hughes, Co-Founder & Senior Vice President of Strategic Marketing, is responsible for strategic marketing, public relations, branding and label relations for PassAlong Networks.
Hughes spent nine years at music giant EMI, most recently as a senior vice president, where he was instrumental in creating a direct-response television partnership with Time Life Music that was the largest selling compilation series for Time Life in 1998, selling more than 3 million double CDs.
Hughes also launched and managed a successful compilation brand called "WoW" that produced sales of more than $250 million and sold 14 million CDs. Each of the "WoW" releases has been certified Gold, Platinum or Multi-platinum.
Seeing the potential in new media and digital music, Hughes commissioned artist websites as early as 1995. He also developed a partnership with Streamwaves.com to create one of the first 24/7 streaming and downloadable music subscription services in partnership with Liquid Audio in 2001.
Prior to joining EMI, Hughes worked as an associate at Zoetics, a boutique direct-response branding agency in New York City. As an associate, he led the agency's research efforts and worked closely with clients such as AT&T Universal Card, Time Life Books, Avon and Gevalia Caffe.
