Nashville’s two most progressive music events, Next BIG Nashville (NBN) and Leadership Music Digital Summit (LMDS), are joining forces to create the best of both within a week-long conference and festival, set for Tuesday, September 28 through Saturday, October 2, in Nashville. Both NBN and LMDS have had major impacts on the cultural landscape of Music City over the last five years, bringing music and creative minds to Nashville as well as providing a platform for the city’s best and brightest.

The combined efforts of Next BIG Nashville & Leadership Music Digital Summit will provide opportunities for independent artists, established artists, application developers, digital graphics designers and music industry employees of any capacity. Attendees can listen to and discuss topics with managers, labels, ISPs, songwriters, mobile operators, consumer product developers, digital music services, retailers, publishers and content aggregators during the day.  At night, 150+ emerging and established artists will perform at 15+ venues in one of the most important cities in music history. More details and earlybird tickets coming in early June.

"LMDS is an intellectual oasis, one of the only conferences where both the speakers and the attendees come with no pre-conceived notions, only the desire to achieve positive outcomes." Ted Cohen, Managing Partner, TAG Strategic LLC
“The Digital Summit is a must attend for anyone wanting to be on the cutting edge of what’s happening in the music industry.  The Summit does a great job of bringing together the biggest players to discuss the most challenging issues in an engaging forum.” David Israelite,  President & CEO, NMPA (National Music Publishers Association)
"The Digital Summit remains one of the pre-eminent digital media conferences on the planet. Well run, well staffed, great content and speakers, and I'll have to say one of the smartest and engaged conference audiences around."  Dave Ulmer, Sr. Director, Multimedia Products & Services, Motorola
"Every spring I look forward to Leadership Music's Digital Summit, one of the foremost conferences dealing with the massive changes occuring in the music industry. Just like the Leadership Music program, this conference attracts leaders and visionaries who willingly share their ideas, debate current issues and bring knowledge to their audience. One of the few "can't miss" events of the year." -John Simson, Excecutive Director, SoundExchange

The Digital Summit is presented in partnership with The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, and hosted by Belmont University's Mike Curb College of Music and Entertainment Business. The Digital Summit is produced by Leadership Music, an educational 501(c)(3) founded in 1989 which serves to nurture an educated, issue-oriented music community. The Digital Summit is now heading into it's fifth year with over 625 attendees attending in 2008. Our non-profit distinction makes this conference different from the other (for-profit) digital entertainment conferences.

The mission of the Leadership Music Digital Summit is to identify and explore new technology opportunities, innovations, and challenges and to foster a knowledgeable, issue-oriented, vibrant community of music industry professionals.

We will accomplish this by:

  • Facilitating understanding and promoting healthy debate
  • Presenting real world context and a vision for the future
  • Producing an entertaining and inspiring program featuring successful innovators and reputable theorists
